Friendship One of the deepest callings of friendship is to weep with those who weep. As I write, in my Autumn, watching the leaves falling off my favorite trees outside of my windows, there is a sense of loss, but yet a sense of a new beginning. The beginning of Winter is slowing creeping upon us, to lay upon us its white blanket of snow, to cleanse the earth, and at which time we actually replenish our souls..to begin again in the spring. And so there are seasons in all of our lives when the wind blows cold and we feel fragile and exposed. These are the times when we wrap each other up in a blanket of love and friendship and stay right there until the buds begin to show again. Real friendship grows when we are prepared to be there equally in the bad moments and the good. When we can walk through a field with a few thorns in the grass and make it to the other side, our friendships will be stronger and our joy will be real. Our deepest needs for intimacy will be met only in the "friend who sticks closer than a brother". The one who has surely carried our sorrows. Thank you my friends from the depth of my soul.
