Configuring Oracle Advanced Security Option Authentication Methods

Centralized, secure authentication methods allow you to have high confidence in the identity of users, clients, and servers in distributed environments. Network authentication methods can also provide the benefit of single sign–on for users.

The Oracle Advanced Security option allows you to configure the following authentication methods:

To configure authentication methods:

  1. Click the Profile icon.

  2. Choose Advanced Security Option from the drop-down list box.

  3. Click the Authentication tab.

  4. Select from the Available Methods list which authentication method you want to use, and click >.

  5. Order the authentication methods according to which method you want used. Select the authentication method in the Selected Methods list, and use the Promote or Demote button to move the selection up or down in the list.

  6. Click the Other Params tab to configure additional parameters for the following authentication methods:

    -Kerberos

    -CyberSAFE

    -RADIUS

    -Identix

  7. Choose Save Network Configuration from the File menu to save changes to SQLNET.ORA in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin on UNIX or ORACLE_HOME\network\admin on Windows platforms, or choose Save As from the File menu to save under a different file name or path.
