The General tab allows you to configure general parameters for the listener.
Listener Name:
Displays the name of the listener.
Startup Wait Time:
Specify the number of seconds that the listener will sleep before responding to a STATUS command issued by the Listener Control Utility (LSNRCTL). By default, the listener will not wait. Set this field only:
Enter the time the listener will wait for a valid database query once a session has started. If you wish to enter a timeout, enter a time value in seconds in the Connect Timeout field. By default, the listener will wait 10 seconds before timing out.

| Save Configuration on Shutdown:
| Select this option to make permanent any changes made by the Listener Control
Utility (LSNRCTL) SET command.

| Register Services with Oracle Names:
| Select this option to button to instruct the listener to register its services
with a well-known Oracle Names server . When the listener starts, it looks for hosts that use the well-known host
names, tries to gather connection information from the Oracle Names server, and
registers its database information with it.
This option is only valid if you are using the Oracle Names version 2 Dynamic Discovery Option. This information is dynamically registered if you are using Oracle Names version 8.

SNMP Contact Information:
Enter any text in the SNMP Contact Information field to specify that information be written to the SNMP.ORA file. This information will be sent with any SNMP connection, and can be any string. It does not affect the process of creating an SNMP connection. This information generally consists of contact information for the client’s user or administrator.
