The Net Service Names tab allows you to query, add, remove or load net service names into an Oracle Names server. You can add or remove one net service name reference at a time. Net service names represent services stored in the Oracle Names server.
Action
| Query:
| Click to query an existing net service name specified in the Service Name
field.

| Add:
| Click to add a new net service name for a service in an Oracle Names server.
Specify the net service name in the Service Name field, enter the location of the listener in the address fields that display, enter the system ID of the database in
the SID field, and select the type of session from the Session drop-down list.

| Remove:
| Click to remove a selected net service name and its address from the Addresses
list box.

| Load:
| Click to load an existing TNSNAMES.ORA already configured with net service
names into an Oracle Names server. When a TNSNAMES.ORA file is chosen, its net
service names will display in the Addresses list box.

| Execute button:
| Click to perform the net service name query, add, remove, or load operation.

Service Name:
Enter the net service name you are planning to query, add or remove.
Address
| Protocol:
| From the drop-down list, select the protocol for the listener address.
Depending on the protocol chosen, enter information in the fields as appropriate.

| SID:
| Enter the system ID (SID) of the database.
|
| Service Type:
| From the drop-down list, specify whether the session will use a dedicated
server or multi-threaded server.

Load Service Names from TNSNAMES.ORA File
Enter the location of the TNSNAMES.ORA file.
