Manage Server: Cache

This Cache tab allows you to configure caching for Oracle Names server.

Cache Operations

Flush Foreign Region Data:


Click to force the Oracle Names server to clear all foreign region data, such as net service names, it has obtained through interactions with other Oracle Names servers from the Oracle Names server cache.


Reload from Region Database:


Click to force the Oracle Names server to check for any data changes in its administrative region immediately. If there have been any changes, the Oracle Names server will reload all database net service names, global database links, and aliases. To reload information from a region database to all Oracle Names servers, select Reload All Names Servers from the Tools menu.


Checkpoint Cache:


Click to force the Oracle Names server to write its cache to its checkpoint file. This creates a backup name for the Oracle Names server cache which can be used in case the Oracle Names server goes down. This operation cannot be performed immediately. A wait time must be specified in the Wait field.


Dump Cache to Trace File:


Click to dump the Oracle Names server cache to its trace file. This operation cannot be performed immediately. A wait time must be specified in the Wait field.


Perform Operations

To specify a time interval during which Net8 Assistant will wait before performing an operation, enter a time interval in seconds in the Wait field provided. To perform operation immediately, click Immediately in the Perform Operation field. To cancel an already scheduled operation, enter a time value of zero in the Wait field provided. Click Apply at the bottom of the tab panel to execute the command selected.

Immediately:


Click to perform an operation immediately.


Wait:


Click to wait to perform and operation, and enter a time interval in seconds. To cancel an already scheduled operation, enter a time value of zero in the Wait field provided.
