This panel allows you to:
Address Configuration
Use the Address tab to modify, add or delete a protocol address for a net service name. If an address is already configured, its protocol information displays in the fields.
| Protocol:
| From the drop-down list, select the protocol for the address. Depending on the protocol chosen, enter information in the fields as appropriate.

| + button:
| Click this button to create a new protocol address. A new Address tab displays where you can select the protocol and enter
protocol information in the fields. Enter the protocol address information the
listener is configured to listen on. The client uses this address to connect to the
listener. The chosen protocol must be installed on both the client and server
(where the listener resides).

| X button:
| Click this button to delete the address in the current Address tab displayed.
|
| < button:
| Click to move the address down in the list order.
|
| > button:
| Click to move the address down in the list order.
|
| Advanced:
| Click to configure address list options .
|
Service Identification
When multiple addresses exists for a net service name, you can configure the following:
| Service Name:
| Enter a service name if configuring this client to connect to a release 8.1 service.
|
| SID:
| Enter a System ID (SID) if configuring this client to connect to a pre-release
8.1 database.
|
| Use Oracle8i Release 8.0 Compatible Identification:
| Select this option if you are configuring a client to connect to a pre-release
8.1 service. You have to enter a System ID (SID) for the database in the SID
field.
Clear this option if you are configuring for a release 8.1 service name. You must enter a service name in the Service Name field. The advanced options that may be configured are also impacted by this option being selected.
