Key Individuals in NRL's Washington D.C. IS Security Office

The incident control response team is the primary NRL IS Security Office personnel in Washington D.C. A key individual, Dr. Bruce Gabrielson has responsibility for overall Incidence Response Plan monitoring and compliance. The incidence response team itself is managed by Mr. Rick Perry (1220.2) and divided into three functional parts.

The first key individual, Dr. Gabrielson, is responsible directly for virus control, data remanence policy and direction, software piracy and illegal file control, and hard disk write protection controls. Another key individual, Mr. Joseph Taylor, is directly responsible for break-in investigations and network protection controls. The third member of the incidence response team, Mr. David Patsfield, is responsible for maintaining the database of essential processing resources.

Summary

In closing, we would like to leave you with a few thoughts. Computer security is everyone's obligation. Security starts with the user. Our office is the authority in all IS security matters, but the responsibility for daily observation of regulations is the user's.
