The General tab allows you to configure or modify general features for an Oracle Names server.

Name:

Enter any valid string to specify the name of an Oracle Names server. All configuration references to a particular Oracle Names Server will use this name.

Note: If you used the is Names Wizard to create an Oracle Names server, the name is entered.

Password:

Enter any valid string to specify a password that the Oracle Names server may require the user to provide in order to perform certain Oracle Names Control Utility (NAMESCTL) operations including STOP, RESTART and RELOAD. This is optional, as specifying a password does not grant any new functionality that is not available to all users if there is no password. There can be only one password per Oracle Names server.
